케임브릿지 사전은 'pasty'를 "(of someone's face or skin) very pale and unhealthy looking((사람의 얼굴이나 피부가) 아주 창백하고 건강하지 않아 보이는)"이라고 정의했다.

"He's an unattractive man with long greasy hair and pasty skin(그는 기름진 머리와 창백한 피부를 가진, 매력적이지 않은 남자이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'pasty'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you are pasty or if you have a pasty face, you look pale and unhealthy(당신이 pasty 하거나 얼굴이 pasty하다면, 창백하고 건강하지 않아 보이는 것이다)."

"My complexion remained pale and pasty(내 안색은 아주 창백한 상태 그대로였다)." 

"Ron Freeman appeared pasty faced and nervous(론 프리먼은 창백하고 긴장한 것처럼 보였다)." 

맥밀란 사전은 'pasty'를 이렇게 풀이했다. "a pasty face or pasty skin looks pale and not very healthy(pasty한 얼굴 또는 pasty한 피부는 창백하고 아주 건강해 보이지 않는 것이다)"
