케임브릿지 사전은 'plaster'를 "to cover a surface or an object with something completely or thickly(표면이나 대상을 다른 것으로 완전히 또는 두껍게 덮다)"라고 정의했다.

"She had plastered her bedroom walls with photos of pop stars(그녀는 자기 침실의 벽을 팝 스타들의 사진으로 도배했다)."

"The car was plastered with mud(그 차는 진흙으로 뒤덮였다)."

"The story was plastered all over the front page of the newspaper(그 이야기는 신문의 전면에 도배되었다)."

콜린스 사전은 'plaster'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If a story or photograph is plastered all over the front page of a newspaper, it is given a lot of space on the page and made very noticeable(어떤 이야기나 사진이 신문의 전면에 plaster되었다면, 그 페이지에 많은 공간을 차지하며 아주 눈에 뜨인다는 뜻이다)."

"His picture was plastered all over the newspapers on the weekend(그의 사진은 주말 신문 곳곳에 도배되었다)." 

맥밀란 사전은 'plaster'를 "to cover a surface or a place with labels, advertisements, pictures etc(표면 또는 공간을 레이블, 광고, 그림 등으로 덮다)"라고 풀이했다.

"He has posters of rock stars plastered all over the walls of his room(그는 자기 방 벽 전체에 록 스타들의 포스터를 도배했다)."
