케임브릿지 사전은 'faculty'를 "a natural ability to hear, see, think, move, etc.(듣거나, 보거나, 생각하거나, 움직이거나 할 수 있는 자연적인 능력)"라고 정의했다.

"Even at the age of 100, she still had all her faculties(100세임에도 불구하고 그녀는 인지 기능을 온전히 유지하고 있었다)."
