케임브릿지 사전은 'herewith'를 "together with this letter or other official written material(이 편지 또는 공식적으로 쓰인 자료와 함께)"이라고 정의했다.

"I enclose three documents herewith(세 가지 문서를 여기에 동봉합니다)."

콜린스 사전은 'herewith'를 이렇게 설명했다. "Herewith means with this document, text, or book. You can use herewith in a letter to say that you are enclosing something with it(herewith는 이 문서, 텍스트, 또는 책과 함께라는 뜻이다. 어떤 것을 이 편지와 같이 동봉한다고 말하기 위해 herewith를 쓸 수 있다)." 격식을 차린(formal) 표현이고, 문서에서(written) 쓴다.

"...the 236 revolutionary prisoners whose names are listed herewith(...혁명을 일으킨 236명의 재소자 이름을 여기 아래에 실었습니다)."

"I return herewith your papers(귀하의 서류를 반환합니다)."

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'herewith'를 "with this letter, book or document(이 편지, 책 또는 문서와 함께)"라고 풀이했다.

"I enclose herewith a copy of the policy(보험 증권 사본 한 부를 동봉합니다)."
