케임브릿지 사전은 'waver'를 이렇게 정의했다. "If you waver between two possibilities, you cannot decide which of them to choose or you keep choosing one way and then the other(두 가지 가능성 사이에서 waver 한다면, 어떤 것을 선택해야 할지 결정하지 못하거나 하나를 선택했다가 다른 것을 선택했다가 하는 것이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'waver'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you waver, you cannot decide about something or you consider changing your mind about something(waver 한다면, 어떤 것을 결정하지 못하거나 어떤 것에 대해 마음을 바꾸는 것을 계속 고려하는 것이다)."
