케임브릿지 사전은 'flush'를 "having a lot of money to spend at a particular time"(특정한 때에 쓸 돈이 많은)이라고 정의했다.

"A flush economy means there's more money for people to invest in property(풍족한 경제란 사람들에게 부동산에 투자할 돈이 더 많다는 뜻이다."

"If you're feeling flush you can always pay a bit more off your debt each month(돈이 평소보다 넉넉하다면 언제든 매달 내야 할 빚을 조금 더 갚을 수 있다)."

"In flush times, lenders relax credit standards(풍족한 시기에는 대출 기관이 신용 기준을 푼다)."

"Firms are flush with cash and investing more(기업들은 현금이 넘치고 투자를 더 많이 한다)."

콜린스 사전은 'flush with'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you are flush with money, you have a lot of it, usually only for a short time(돈이 flush하다면, 대개 짧은 시간 동안만 돈이 많은 것이다)." 인포멀(informal)한 표현이다.
