케임브릿지 사전은 'frolic'을 "to play and behave in a happy way(행복하게 놀며 행동하다)"라고 정의했다.

"A group of suntanned children were frolicking on the beach(한 무리의 볕에 그을린 아이들이 해변가에서 즐겁게 뛰놀고 있었다)."

콜린스 사전은 'frolic'을 이렇게 설명했다. "When people or animals frolic, they play or move in a lively, happy way(사람이나 동물이 frolic 한다면, 활기차고 행복하게 놀거나 움직이는 것이다)."

"Tourists sunbathe and frolic in the ocean(관광객들은 대양에서 일광욕을 하고 뛰논다)."
