케임브릿지 사전은 'innermost'를 "most secret and hidden(가장 비밀스럽고 숨겨진)"이라고 정의했다.

"This was the diary in which Gina recorded her innermost thoughts and secrets(이건 지나가 자신의 가장 사적인 생각과 비밀을 쓴 일기장이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'innermost'를 이렇게 설명했다. "Your innermost thoughts and feelings are your most personal and secret ones(innermost한 생각과 감정은 가장 개인적이고 비밀스러운 것들이다)."

"...expressing your innermost feelings(...가장 사적인 감정들을 표현하는...)." 

"...revealing a company's innermost secrets(...한 기업의 가장 내밀한 비밀들을 밝히는...)." 

맥밀란 사전은 'innermost'를 이렇게 풀이했다. "your innermost thoughts and feelings are the ones that are most personal and private(innermost한 생각과 감정은 가장 개인적이고 사적인 것들이다)"
