케임브릿지 사전은 'undercut'을 "to charge less than a competitor(경쟁자보다 더 적은 가격을 청구하다)"라고 정의했다.

"Big supermarkets can undercut all rivals, especially small family-owned shops(대형 수퍼마켓은 모든 경쟁자들, 특히 가족이 운영하는 작은 가게들보다 저가로 물건을 팔 수 있다)."

"They claim to undercut their competitors by at least five percent(그들은 경쟁자들보다 최소한 5%는 싸게 판다고 주장한다)."

콜린스 사전은 'undercut'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If you undercut someone or undercut their prices, you sell a product more cheaply than they do(어떤 사람보다 undercut 하거나 또는 가격을 undercut 한다면, 그들보다 제품을 더 싸게 파는 것이다)."
