케임브릿지 사전은 'raft'를 "a large number or range; a lot(많은 양 또는 범위; 다량)"이라고 정의했다.

"a raft of data(많은 데이터)"

"We have designed a whole raft of measures to improve the transport system(우리는 배송 시스템을 개선하기 위해 아주 많은 조치를 고안했다)."

콜린스 사전은 'raft'를 이렇게 설명했다. "A raft of people or things is a lot of them(사람이나 사물의 raft는 그것이 아주 많은 것이다)."

"He has surrounded himself with a raft of advisers who are very radical(그는 아주 급진적인 고문으로 자신을 둘러쌌다)."
