케임브릿지 사전은 'cold fish'를 "someone who seems unfriendly and who does not share their feelings(친근해 보이지 않고 자신의 감정을 공유하지 않는 사람)"라고 정의했다.

콜린스 사전은 'a cold fish'를 "a person who seems unemotional, which makes them appear unfriendly or unsympathetic(감정적이지 않아 보이고, 따라서 친근해 보이지 않거나 호감이 안 가는 사람)"이라고 설명했다.

"He didn't really show much emotion – he's a bit of a cold fish(그는 별로 감정을 보이지 않는다. 그는 좀 냉정한 사람이다)."
