케임브릿지 사전은 'gaggle'을 "a group of noisy or silly people(시끄럽거나 바보 같은 사람들의 무리)"이라고 정의했다.

"There was the usual gaggle of journalists waiting for the star(그곳에는 스타를 기다리는, 시끌벅적한 기자들 무리가 있었다)."

콜린스 사전은 'gaggle'을 이렇게 설명했다. "You can use gaggle to refer to a group of people, especially if they are noisy or disorganized(gaggle은 사람들 무리, 특히 시끄럽거나 체계적이지 못한 무리를 가리킨다)." 못마땅해하는(disapproval) 뉘앙스이다.
