케임브릿지 사전은 'enclosure'를 "an area surrounded by fences or walls(울타리나 담으로 둘러싸인 지역)"라고 정의했다.

"an enclosure for the horses(말들을 위한 보호 구역)"

"the members' enclosure(회원들만의 구역)"

콜린스 사전은 'enclosure'를 이렇게 설명했다. "An enclosure is an area of land that is surrounded by a wall or fence and that is used for a particular purpose(enclosure는 담 또는 울타리로 둘러싸이고 특정한 목적을 위해 사용되는 지역이다)."

"This enclosure was so vast that the outermost wall could hardly be seen(이 구역은 아주 광활해서 가장 바깥쪽의 담은 거의 보이지 않을 정도다)." 

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'enclosure'를 "a piece of land that is surrounded by a fence or wall and is used for a particular purpose(울타리 또는 담으로 둘러싸이고 특정한 목적으로 사용되는 땅)"라고 풀이했다.
