케임브릿지 사전은 'garrulous'를 "having the habit of talking a lot, especially about things that are not important(특히 중요하지 않은 것들에 대해 말을 많이 하는 습관이 있는)"라고 정의했다.

콜린스 사전은 'garrulous'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you describe someone as garrulous, you mean that they talk a great deal, especially about unimportant things(어떤 사람을 garrulous라고 묘사한다면, 그들이 특히 중요하지 않은 것에 대해 많이 말한다는 뜻이다)."
