케임브릿지 사전은 'triplicate'를 "existing in three parts that are exactly the same(완전히 똑같은 세 부분으로 구성된)"이라고 정의했다.

콜린스 사전은 'triplicate'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If something written is in triplicate, there are three copies of it(어떤 것이 in triplicate로 쓰여 있다면, 같은 것이 세 부 있는 것이다)."

"Folders, files, and forms in triplicate were strewn across Emily's desk(폴더와 파일, 그리고 서식은 세 부씩 에밀리의 책상에 흩어져 있었다)." 

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'triplicate'를 "(of a document) copied twice, so that there are three copies in total((문서가) 두 번 복사되어, 같은 것이 총 세 부 있게 되다)"이라고 풀이했다.
