[영어 공부] top-of-the-line(최고급품의, 최신식의, 최신예의)

케임브릿지 사전은 'top-of-the-line'을 "used for describing something that is the most expensive in a group of similar products(비슷한 상품들의 무리 중에서 가장 비싼 것을 나타내는 말)"라고 정의했다.

"a top-of-the-line Mercedes(최고로 비싼 메르세데스 모델)"

콜린스 사전은 'top-of-the-line'을 이렇게 설명했다. "Top-of-the-line products are the best or most expensive products of their kind(top-of-the-line한 제품은 같은 급에서 제일 좋거나 제일 비싼 제품이다)."

"The boutique specializes in top-of-the-line luxury goods with little discounting(그 부띠끄는 할인을 거의 하지 않고 최고급 럭셔리 제품만을 특별히 판매한다)."

"In Mexico, while big-box retailers are emphasizing everyday low prices, at the other end of the spectrum the number of top-of-the-line outlets is increasing(멕시코에서는 대형 할인점이 매일 최저가를 강조하는 반면, 이 스펙트럼의 다른 끝에 있는 최고급품 아울렛이 증가하고 있다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'top-of-the-line'을 "being or belonging to the highest or most expensive class(가장 높은, 또는 가장 비싼 클래스인 또는 거기에 속하는)"라고 풀이했다.

"top-of-the-line camera equipment(최고가 카메라 장비)"
