케임브릿지 사전은 'make no bones about sth'을 "not to try to hide your feelings(당신의 감정을 숨기려고 노력하지 않다)"라고 정의했다.

"He made no bones about his dissatisfaction with the service(그는 그 서비스에 불만족했음을 숨기지 않았다)."

콜린스 사전은 'make no bones'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you make no bones about something, you talk openly about it, rather than trying to keep it a secret(어떤 것에 대해 make no bones 한다면, 그것에 대해 터놓고 이야기하는 것이다)."

"Some of them make no bones about their political views(그들 중 일부는 그들의 정치적 견해를 솔직히 드러냈다)." 

맥밀란 사전은 'make no bones about something'을 "to talk about or do something in a very open way without feeling ashamed or embarrassed(어떤 것에 대해 아주 터놓고, 수치스럽거나 부끄러워하지 않고 이야기하다)"라고 풀이했다.
