케임브릿지 사전은 'close in'을 "to gradually get nearer to someone, usually in order to attack them(대개 공격하기 위해 누군가에게 점점 가까이 다가가다)"이라고 정의했다.

"The advancing soldiers closed in on the town(전진하는 군인들이 그 마을에 접근했다)."
