케임브릿지 사전은 'lay bare something'을 "to make something known(어떤 것을 알리다)"이라고 정의했다.

메리암웹스터 사전은 'lay bare'를 "to reveal or uncover private information or feelings(개인적인 정보나 감정을 감추거나 알아내다)"라고 설명했다.
