케임브릿지 사전은 'incursion'을 "a sudden attack on or act of going into a place, especially across a border(갑작스러운 공격, 또는 어떤 장소로, 특히 국경을 넘어서 가는 행위)"라고 정의했다.

 

"incursions into enemy territory(적군 지역으로 감행하는 급습)"

콜린스 사전은 'incursion'을 이렇게 설명헀다. "If there is an incursion into a country, enemy soldiers suddenly enter it(어떤 국가로 향하는 incursion이 있다면, 적군이 갑자기 그곳에 들어가는 것이다)."

 

"...armed incursions into border areas by rebel forces(...반란군에 의한, 국경 지대 급습)."

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'incursion'을 "a sudden attack on a place by foreign armies, etc.(외적 등에 의한 갑작스러운 공격)"라고 풀이했다.

 

"Border patrols were increased to deter further incursions by foreign forces(외국 군대에 의한 급습이 더 이상 없도록 막기 위해 국경 순찰대를 늘렸다)."
