케임브릿지 사전은 'upscale'을 이렇게 정의했다. "Upscale goods and products are of very high quality and intended to be bought by people who are quite rich(upscale한 상품과 제품은 아주 고급이고 아주 부유한 사람들에게 팔리기 위해 의도된 것들이다)."
