케임브릿지 사저는 'fleece'를 "to take someone's money dishonestly, by charging too much money or by cheating them(너무 많은 돈을 청구하거나 상대를 속임으로써 부정직하게 상대의 돈을 빼앗다)"이라고 정의했다.

"That restaurant really fleeced us!(그 레스토랑이 우리에게 바가지를 씌웠어!)"

콜린스 사전은 'fleece'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you fleece someone, you get a lot of money from them by tricking them or charging them too much(상대를 fleece 한다면, 상대를 속이거나 너무 많이 청구함으로써 그들에게서 많은 돈을 받다)." 비격식 표현이다.

"She claims he fleeced her out of thousands of pounds(그녀는 그가 자신에게 수천 파운드나 바가지를 씌웠다고 주장한다)."

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'fleece'를 "to take a lot of money from somebody by charging them too much(상대에게 큰돈을 청구해서 그들에게 많은 돈을 받다)"라고 풀이했다.
