케임브릿지 사전은 'traipse'를 "to walk from one place to another, often feeling tired or bored(대개 피곤하거나 지루하다고 느끼며 한 곳에서 다른 곳으로 걸어가다)"라고 정의했다.

"I spent the day traipsing around the shops, but found nothing suitable for her(나는 하루 종일 가게들을 돌아다녔지만, 그녀에게 어울리는 것은 찾지 못했다)."

"More than 6 million people traipse through the national park each year(매년 6백만 명이 넘는 사람들이 국립공원을 걷는다)."

콜린스 사전은 'traipse'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you traipse somewhere, you go there unwillingly, often because you are tired or unhappy(어딘가를 traipse 한다면, 대개 피곤하거나 불행하기 때문에 그곳에 마지못해 가는 것이다)."

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'traipse'를 "to walk somewhere slowly when you are tired and unwilling(피곤하고 가고 싶지 않을 때 어딘가로 천천히 걷다)"이라고 풀이했다.
