케임브릿지 사전은 'junket'을 "a journey or visit made for pleasure by an official that is paid for by someone else or with public money(공무원이, 다른 사람에게 돈을 받거나 공금을 가지고, 재미를 위해 하는 여행 또는 방문)"라고 정의했다.

콜린스 사전은 'junket'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If you describe a trip or visit by an official or businessman as a junket, you disapprove of it because it is expensive, unnecessary, and often has been paid for with public money(공무원이나 경영인이 하는 여행이나 방문을 junket이라고 묘사한다면, 그것이 비싸고, 불필요하며, 대개 공금으로 값을 치른 것이기 때문에 그것을 못마땅해하는 것이다)." 격식 없고(informal) 못마땅해하는 표현이다.

"He took frequent junkets with friends to exotic locales(그는 이국적인 현장들에 친구와 자주 시찰을 다녔다)." 

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'junket'을 "a trip that is made for pleasure by someone who works for the government, etc. and that is paid for using public money(정부 등에서 일하는 사람이, 공금으로 이용해 값을 치른, 재미로 하는 여행)"라고 풀이했다.
