케임브릿지 사전은 'thicket'을 "an area of trees and bushes growing closely together(나무와 덤불이 빽빽하게 같이 자라는 영역)"라고 정의했다.

콜린스 사전은 'thicket'을 이렇게 설명했다. "A thicket is a small group of trees or bushes which are growing closely together(thicket은 같이 빽빽하게 자라는 나무나 덤불의 작은 무리이다)."

"...a bamboo thicket(대나무 숲)."

롱맨 사전은 'thicket'을 "a group of bushes and small trees(덤불과 작은 나무들의 무리)"라고 풀이했다.

"He was working in a thicket of briar, elder and dead wood from a fallen tree(그는 들장미, 딱총나무, 그리고 넘어진 나무의 죽어가는 나뭇가지들의 덤불에서 일하고 있었다)."
