케임브릿지 사전은 'at/in one fell swoop'을 이렇게 정의했다. "If you do something at/in one fell swoop, you do it all at the same time(어떤 것을 at/in one fell swoop에 한다면, 그것을 전부, 동시에 하는 것이다)."

"I got all my Christmas shopping done in one fell swoop(나는 크리스마스 쇼핑을 전부 한번에 해치웠다)."

콜린스 사전은 'in one fell swoop'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If something is done in one fell swoop or at one fell swoop, it is done on a single occasion or by a single action(어떤 것에 in one fell swoop 또는 at one fell swoop에 행해진다면, 한 번의 기회에 또는 한 번의 행동에 행해지는 것이다.)."
