[영어 공부] halt(멈추다, 서다, 세우다 / 멈춤, 중단)

 

'halt'는 동사로 쓰면 '멈추다, 서다, 세우다'라는 뜻이고 명사로 쓰면 '멈춤, 중단'이라는 뜻이다.

케임브릿지 사전은 'halt'를 "to (cause to) stop moving or doing something or happening(어떤 것이 움직이거나 어떤 일을 하거나 움직이던 것을 멈추(게 하)다)"이라고 정의했다.
