방금 왜 이렇게 피곤한가 생각해 봤는데, 월요일이라 그런 게 아닐까. 'wiped out'은 '기진맥진한, 녹초가 된'이라는 뜻이다.

케임브릿지 사전은 'wiped out'을 "extremely tired(극도로 피곤한)"라고 정의했다.

"After that five-mile run I was completely wiped out(5마일 달리기를 하고 나서 나는 완전히 녹초가 됐다)."

롱맨 사전은 'wipe out'을 "to make you feel extremely tired(극도로 피곤하게 만들다)"라고 설명했다.

"The heat had wiped us out(열기 때문에 우리 모두 기진맥진했다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'wipe out'을 "to make someone extremely tired(극도로 피곤하게 만들다)"라고 풀이했다.

"The early-morning meetings really wipe me out(이른 아침 미팅은 정말 나를 녹초로 만든다)."
