케임브릿지 사전은 'high-profile'을 "attracting a lot of attention and interest from the public and newspapers, television, etc.(대중, 신문, 텔레비전 등으로부터 많은 관심과 흥미를 끄는)"라고 정의했다.

"high-profile politicians(세간의 이목을 끄는 정치인들)"

"He resigned from a high-profile job as economic adviser to the president(그는 대통령 직속 경제 고문이라는, 세간의 이목을 끄는 자리에서 사퇴했다)."

콜린스 사전은 'high-profile'을 이렇게 설명했다. "A high-profile person or a high-profile event attracts a lot of attention or publicity(high profile한 사람이나 사건은 많은 관심 또는 매스컴의 주목을 끄는 것이다)."
