케임브릿지 사전은 'stickler'를 "a person who thinks that a particular type of behaviour is very important, and always follows it or tries to make other people follow it(특정한 유형의 행동이 아주 중요하다고 생각하고 언제나 그것을 따르거나 다른 사람으로 하여금 그것을 따르게 하려고 노력하는 사람)"이라고 정의했다.

"He's a stickler for detail/accuracy/efficiency(그는 세부 사항/정확성/효율성에 관해 까다로운 사람이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'stickler'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If you are a stickler for something, you always demand or require it(어떤 것에 대한 stickler라면, 언제나 그것을 요구하거나 필요로 하는 것이다)."

"I'm a bit of a stickler for accuracy(나는 정확성에 대해 좀 까다로운 사람이다)."
