케임브릿지 사전은 "affable"을 "friendly and easy to talk to(친절하고 이야기하기 편한)"라고 정의했다.

"He struck me as an affable sort of a man(그는 내게 사근사근한 류의 남자라는 인상을 주었다)."

"She was quite affable at the meeting(그녀는 미팅에서 꽤 상냥했다)."
