[영어 공부] nicety((특히 바른 행동·일 처리와 관련된) 세부 사항[세세한 차이점])

 

케임브릿지 사전은 'nicety'를 "a detail or small difference that is only obvious after careful thought(조심스러운 고려 후에야 명백하게 보이는 세부 사항 또는 작은 차이)"이라고 정의했다.

"They spent a lot of time arguing about legal niceties(그들은 법적인 세부 사항에 대해 언쟁하면서 많은 시간을 보냈다)."

"We don't bother with all the social niceties here(우리는 여기에서 사교적인 세부 사항에 신경 쓰지 않습니다)."

콜린스 사전은 'nicety'를 이렇게 설명했다. "The niceties of a situation are its details, especially with regard to good manners or the appropriate behaviour for that situation(어떤 상황의 nicety는 특히 예의 또는 그 상황에 적절한 행동과 관련한 그 세부 사항이다)."

"By the end of term, girls will have learnt the niceties of dinner party conversation(학기가 끝날 때쯤 소녀들은 디너 파티에서 나누는 대화와 관련한 세부 사항을 배웠을 것이다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'nicety'를 "a way of behaving that people consider to be correct(사람들이 옳다고 여기는 행동 방식)"라고 풀이했다.
