케임브릿지 사전은 'adorn'을 "to add something decorative to a person or thing(장식적인 것을 사람 또는 사물에 추가하다)"이라고 정의했다.

"The bride's hair was adorned with white flowers(신부의 머리카락은 꽃으로 장식돼 있었다)."

콜린스 사전은 'adorn'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If something adorns a place or an object, it makes it look more beautiful(어떤 것이 장소 또는 사물을 adorn 한다면, 그것을 더욱 아름다워 보이게 만드는 것이다)."

"His watercolour designs adorn a wide range of books(그의 수채화 디자인이 광범위한 책들을 장식했다)."
