케임브릿지 사전은 'unthinking'을 "not based on serious thought or an examination of the information(진지한 생각이나 정보 조사에 기반하지 않은)"이라고 정의했다.

"What annoys me about these people is their unthinking hostility to anything foreign or unfamiliar(이 사람들에 대해 짜증 나는 건, 이국적이거나 낯선 것에 대한 생각 없는 적대심이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'unthinking'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If you say that someone is unthinking, you are critical of them because you consider that they do not think carefully about the effects of their behaviour(어떤 사람이 unthinking하다고 말하면, 당신은 그들이 자신의 행동에 따른 영향에 대해 깊이 생각하지 않는다고 여기기 때문에 그들에 비판적인 것이다)." 못마땅해하는(disapproval) 뉘앙스이다.

"He doesn't say those silly things that unthinking people say(그는 생각 없는 사람들이 하는 그런 바보 같은 말들을 하지 않는다)."

"Bruce was no unthinking vandal(브루스는 생각 없는 기물파손자가 아니었다)." 

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'unthinking'을 "​not thinking about the effects of what you do or say(당신이 하는 행동이나 말의 영향에 대해 생각하지 않는)"라고 풀이했다.

"Unthinking, he started to cross the road(아무런 생각 없이 그는 길을 건너기 시작했다)."
