케임브릿지 사전은 'redux'를 "(often used in the titles of films and video games) brought back((대개 영화나 비디오 게임 제목에 쓰여서) 돌아온)"이라고 정의했다.

"With "Ashes of Time Redux," Wong has decided to recut and rethink his original material(돌아온 'Ashes of Time'에서 웡은 자신의 원작을 다시 편집하고 재고했다)."

콜린스 사전은 'redux'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If a work of art is redux, it is presented in a new way(어떤 작품이 redux라면, 새로운 방식으로 표현된 것이다)."
