케임브릿지 사전은 'scamper'를 이렇게 정의했다. "When small children and animals scamper, they run with small quick steps(작은 아이나 동물이 scamper 한다면, 작고 재빠른 걸음으로 뛰는 것이다)."

"The children scampered off into the garden(아이들은 정원으로 뛰어갔다)."

콜린스 사전은 'scamper'를 이렇게 설명했다. "When people or small animals scamper somewhere, they move there quickly with small, light steps(사람이나 작은 동물이 scamper 한다면, 작고 가벼운 걸음으로 재빨리 움직이는 것이다)."
