케임브릿지 사전은 'housekeeping'을 "used to refer to tasks that need to be done as a regular part of your work but are not the main purpose of your work(일의 규칙적인 일부로서 행해지지만 일의 주요 목적은 아닌 과제들을 가리키는 말)"라고 정의했다.
