케임브릿지 사전은 'warren'을 "a very crowded and confusing building or part of a city in which it is easy to get lost(길을 잃기 쉬운, 아주 붐비고 혼란스러운 건물 또는 도시의 한 부분)"라고 정의했다.

"We wandered through the warren of old streets(우리는 오래된 도로의 복잡한 미로를 거닐었다)."

옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 "a building or part of a city with many narrow passages or streets(좁은 통로나 도로가 많은, 건물이나 도시의 부분)"라고 설명했다.

"The offices were a warren of small rooms and passages(그 사옥은 작은 방과 통로의 미로였다)."

롱맨 사전은 'warren'을 "a place with so many streets, rooms etc that it is difficult to find the place that you want(많은 도로나 방 등이 많아서 당신이 원하는 곳을 찾기 어려운 장소)"라고 풀이했다
