케임브릿지 사전은 'besotted'를 "completely in love with someone or something and always thinking of them(어떤 사람/사물과 푹 사랑에 빠져서 언제나 그들을 생각하는)"이라고 정의했다.

"He was so completely besotted with her that he couldn't see how badly she treated him(그는 그녀에게 푹 빠져서 그녀가 그를 얼마나 형편없이 대하는지를 볼 수 없었다)."

"People have always been besotted by the beauty of the diamond(사람들은 언제나 다이아몬드의 아름다움에 푹 빠져 있었다)."
