케임브릿지 사전은 'biddable'을 "able to be led or controlled easily(쉽게 이끌거나 통제할 수 있는)"라고 정의했다.

"As a breed these dogs are known for being biddable and obedient(이 종의 특성으로, 이 개들은 순하고 말을 잘 듣는 것으로 알려져 있다)."

"They were looking for biddable employees who would not cause trouble(그들은 사고를 치지 않는 고분고분한 고용인을 찾고 있다)."

콜린스 사전은 'biddable'을 "docile; obedient(유순한; 순종적인)"라고 설명했다.

​옥스퍼드 학습자 사전은 'biddable'을 "(of people) willing to obey and to do what they are told to((사람이) 시키는 대로 하고 따를 의향이 있는)"라고 풀이했다.
