케임브릿지 사전은 'frontal'을 "relating to the front of something(어떤 것의 앞면과 관한)"이라고 정의했다.

"the frontal lobes/regions of the brain(뇌의 전두엽/정면 부위)"

콜린스 사전은 'frontal'을 이렇게 설명했다. "Frontal means relating to or involving the front of something, for example the front of an army, a vehicle, or the brain(frontal은 예를 들어 군대, 차량, 도는 뇌의 앞처럼, 무엇의 앞과 관련되거나 연관된 것을 말한다)." 격식을 차린(formal) 표현이다.
