케임브릿지 사전은 'hound'를 "to chase someone or to refuse to leave someone alone, especially because you want to get something from them(특히 당신이 어떤 사람에게서 무언가를 얻고 싶기 때문에, 그들의 뒤를 쫓거나 그 사람을 혼자 두기를 거부하다)"이라고 정의했다.

"The reporters wouldn't stop hounding her(기자들은 그녀를 따라다니며 괴롭히길 멈추지 않을 것이다)."

콜린스 사전은 'hound'를 이렇게 설명했다. "If someone hounds you, they constantly disturb or speak to you in an annoying or upsetting way(어떤 사람이 당신을 hound 한다면, 그들이 당신을 귀찮게 하거나 짜증나거나 속상하게 하는 방식으로 당신에게 말을 거는 것이다)."
