케임브릿지 사전은 'have your work cut out (for you)'를 "to have something very difficult to do(하기 아주 어려운 일을 맡다)"라고 정의했다.

"She'll really have her work cut out to finish all those reports by the end of the week(이번 주말까지 이 모든 보고서를 끝내야 하다니 그녀는 정말 힘에 겨운 일을 맡았다)."

콜린스 사전은 'to have your work cut out'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If you say that you will have your work cut out to do something, you mean that it will be a very difficult task(어떤 일을 하는 데 have your work cut out 한다면, 그것이 아주 어려운 과제라는 뜻이다)."
