어떤 사람이든 행위이든 간에 푹 빠지면 그 사람/그것밖에 안 보이고 다른 사람/것엔 눈길조차 주지 않게 된다.

이런 걸 영어로는 'be wrapped up in sb/sth'라고 표현할 수 있다.

케임브릿지 'be wrapped up in sth/sth'을 이렇게 정의했다. "If you are wrapped up in someone or something, you are very interested in him, her, or it and ignore other people or things(누군가 또는 어떤 것에 be wrapped up 하면, 그 사람 또는 그것에게 아주 흥미를 느껴 다른 사람이나 다른 것들은 무시하는 것이다)". 인포멀(informal)한 표현이다.

"She's always been completely wrapped up in her children(그녀는 언제나 자기 아이들에게 푹 빠져 있다)."

콜린스 사전은 'wrapped up'을 이렇게 설명한다. "If someone is wrapped up in a particular person or thing, they spend nearly all their time thinking about them, so that they forget about other things which may be important(누군가 특정한 사람 또는 물건에 wrapped up 한다면, 거의 모든 시간을 그 사람(그것)에 대해 생각하는 데 써서 중요할 수 있는 다른 것에 대해서는 잊어버리는 것이다)."

"He's too serious and dedicated, wrapped up in his career(그는 너무 자신의 커리어를 심각하고 생각하고 커리어에 헌신하며 몰두한다)."

"New mothers can get very wrapped up in their baby without realising it(이제 어머니가 된 이들은 자신도 모르게 자신의 아기에게 푹 빠져 다른 것은 돌보지 못할 수 있다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'wrap up'이라는 구 동사(phrasal verb)의 많은 뜻 중 'be wrapped up in something'의 형태로 쓰인 표현은 "to spend so much time doing something or thinking about it that you do not notice anything else(어떤 것을 하거나 그것에 대해 생각하면서 아주 많은 시간을 보내서 다른 것은 인식하지 못하다)"라는 뜻이라고 풀이했다.

"She’s so wrapped up in herself that she rarely calls me(그녀는 자기 자신에만 열중해서 나한텐 전화도 거의 안 해)."
