너무 긴장하면, 또는 불안하고 초조하면 제대로 앉아 있지도 못하고 엉덩이가 들썩들썩한다.

그럴 때 'twitchy' 하다고 할 수 있을 것이다.

케임브릿지 사전은 'twitchy'를 "nervous and worried, sometimes showing this through sudden movements or movements that do not appear smooth or relaxed(긴장하고 걱정하며 때로 이런 것을 매끄럽거나 느긋해 보이지 않는 갑작스러운 움직임(들)으로 보여 주는)"라고 정의한다.

"On camera he appears twitchy and ill at ease(카메라 앞에서 그는 초조해하고 불편해 보였다)." 

"The president is getting twitchy about the fall in his popularity(대통령은 인기 하락에 대해 불안해하고 있다)."

콜린스 사전은 'twitchy'를 이렇게 설명한다. "If you are twitchy, you are behaving in a rather nervous way that shows you feel anxious and cannot relax(당신이 twitchy 하다면, 당신이 불안해하며 느긋해하지 못하는 것을 보여 주는, 긴장한 방식으로 행동하는 것이다)." 인포멀(informal)한 표현이다.

"He was still twitchy and we awaited Ann's return anxiously(그는 여전히 초조해 했고 우리는 앤이 돌아오기를 불안한 마음으로 기다렸다)."

"Afraid of bad publicity, the department had suddenly become very twitchy about journalists(홍보에 악영향을 미칠까 우려한 그 부서는 갑자기 저널리스트들에 대해 불안해하게 됐다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'twitchy'를 간단히 "nervous, or worried(긴장한, 또는 걱정한)"라고 풀이했다.
