케임브릿지 사전은 'tuck in/tuck into sth'을 "to start eating something eagerly(어떤 것을 열성적으로 먹기 시작하다)"

"Judging by the way they tucked into their dinner, they must have been very hungry(그들이 저녁을 의욕적으로 먹는 걸 보니, 무척 배고팠음이 틀림없다)."

"There's plenty of food, so please tuck in(음식은 충분히 있으니, 어서 드세요)."

콜린스 사전은 'tuck into'을 이렇게 설명했다. "If someone tucks into a meal or tucks in, they start eating enthusiastically or hungrily(식사를 tucks into 하거나 tuck in 한다면, 열광적으로 또는 배고픈듯 먹기 시작하는 것이다)." 영국식(British)이고 인포멀(informal)한 표현이다.
