케임브릿지 사전은 'not have the stomach for something'을 "to not feel brave or determined enough to do something unpleasant(불쾌한 어떤 일을 할 만큼 용감하거나 단호하지 않다)"라고 정의했다.

"I didn't have the stomach for another fight(나는 다시 싸울 배짱이 없었다)."

콜린스 사전은 'not have the stomach'을 이렇게 설명한다. "If you have no stomach for something, you do not have the courage to do it(당신이 have no stomach for something 한다면, 당신은 그것을 할 용기가 없는 것이다)."

물론 'have no stomach for something'이라고 써도 같은 뜻이다.

"America has no stomach for a fight(미국은 싸울 용기가 없다)."

"The surgeon didn't have the stomach to look at Kelly's face(그 외과 의사는 켈리의 얼굴을 볼 용기가 없었다)."

맥밀란 사전은 'have the stomach for something'을 "to have enough determination to do something unpleasant or dangerous(불쾌하거나 위험한 일을 할 충분한 결단력이 있다)"라고 풀이했다.

"The young conscripts had no stomach for a fight(젊은 징집병들은 전투할 배짱이 없었다)."
